Have you ever experienced your heart being so full of love for the Lord that it seems like you are going to burst?
In that moment, what do you do? What do you have to give? How can you express what you are feeling?
All that is necessary is for you to give the most precious thing you have – yourself. Bask in that special time of intimacy with God. Blow kisses to Him in the way only you know how. Let Him know that there is no-one in all the universe to you like Him – ever.
Pour your love without reserve, embarrassment or second thought knowing that this is why you exist – to fellowship with God Most High in sacred moments of adoration, worship, communion and, yes, understanding. It is possible to come to the place where God gives you such enlightenment that it is as if the scales have dropped from your eyes and you recognised that everything you knew before now seems so far from what God has revealed to you.
Pour out yourself in love before the Lord – He loves it.
At times it will be a very private affair and other times it will be in public. Some people will not understand your expression of love but that is not the issue.
Mary came to Jesus and stood behind Him. She began to wash His feet with her tears and wipe them with her hair. Oh! She kissed His feet and anointed them with the precious ointment which poured out from her alabaster box which she freely, gladly, willingly broke which had a value of at least a year’s wages.
Yes, it was seen as being extravagant; lavish; wasteful to pour out the ointment on Jesus’ fee but Jesus knew the heart, the intent and motive of Mary as she worshipped. They both knew what she had been; where she was coming from and her act of worship was more than warranted by the forgiveness and acceptance she had received from Jesus.
Mary’s action filled a gap in the hospitality that Jesus did not receive in Philip’s house and Jesus did not refuse her. He knew how much that ointment cost and what else it could have been used for but He accepted it being poured on His feet. His acceptance released Mary’s heart of love and brought her to such a place of peace. (Luke 7:36-50)
Why not pour out your love, your worship. If that’s not your choice – what are you saving it for?
